Here is a wonderful, antique bisque,
solid dome (Belton style) musical
marotte, J
ester
doll measuring, 13" long, not including her colorful hat. This rare item has a thick wooden, stick handle with painted decoration and working music box beneath her many layers of brocade panels & tassels. She has beautiful pale bisque with even color, a
closed mouth, beautiful inset, blue glass eyes
and wavy blond hair (thin in some areas). When the handle is held and twirled the panels flare out and the music plays. Usually these marotte toys had only bells or chimes. The head is not marked or incised with any numbers or letters as to origin and may have been combined with a later marotte wooden handle. These wonderful antique toys are very rare and this charming one is very special. Other antique dolls and antique Jester marotte items shown are NOT included.
