    Description

    Selling two vintage ship lanterns, one copper and one brass with wooden handles and candles.  Lanterns operate by candles only.  Both lanterns are in excellent vintage condition.  There are no markings on the lanterns and their history is unknown.  Approximate Measurements:  9" high x 3.5" wide (7" high with handle down).
    These were inherited from our grandfather, Wilson M. Vineyard, founder and owner of The Vineyard Shipbuilding Company in Milford, Delaware.  The shipyard was operated by the Vineyard family from 1896 until it closed in 1973.  SEE LAST PHOTO for history of the shipyard.
