Nearly N.O.S. Police / Boat Signal Hand Lantern - Whale Oil - Amazing Tin Plate

Description

Pros: Lantern finish is as found. All original tin plate with no rust anywhere.  This is the best finish I have ever seen on a tin plated hand lantern from this era.  Blinder works perfectly, and is not spring loaded, with no sign of it ever having been spring loaded.  The lantern has the original fount and burner, which is for whale oil.  Burner and Fount appear unused seemingly however a very light dusting of carbon is found in the upper baffle which tells me it was used once or twice.  Glass lens has no damage. No Dings or Dents either, that I could find.
Cons: Possibly the reason this lantern saw little use, one of the two handles on the back snapped off and is missing.
The ring that holds the fount in place also snapped off, and is still with the lantern. I had wanted to resolder it to the frame but didn't, I decided any heat to the lantern would cause odd colors to the tin and I didn't want to ruin the finish.
