To decode digital transmissions you must have a windows computer (xp, Vista, Win7,8,or 10) and a 3.5mm microphone/Line in port. It uses the DSDPLUS digital speech decoder program to decode the above codecs which is free to download.. Make sure you have one of the following systems in your area. Use Radio Reference  website databases to check your area. Ask questions before making your purchase. Check the Bands below to confirm your digital frequencies are in the band ranges of this scanner.
This is a Uniden Bearcat BC355N that has been modified with a Patriotwaves BC355 Data Discriminator device and a white noise digital filter cable.  This unit has all the attributes and functions of a traditional BC355N scanner for analog radio receiving but also allows for digital receiving of APCO P25 Phase 1, motoTRBO, NXDN Nexedge, Provoice EDACS and X2-TDMA digital trunking system codecs. It comes with the following:
