    Description

    From a well travelled Cruising Sailboat, this vintage BRASS GIMBALLED SHIPS OIL LAMP is a practical design in very good condition.  There are many photos showing its details and condition.
    Made years ago in Holland by the respected maker Den Haan, and so marked on the rowel.  This lamp is much heavier and more carefully made than their later lamps.
    Quite a good sized lamp-  It measures about 10" tall, and will project about 6 3/8" inches from wall or bulkhead.  Lamp shows light signs of shipboard use, with no abuse.
    Will be shipped with a fresh wick.
    Burner is a great design- The upper burner and chimney section is hinged, allowing the the lamp to be exstinguished or lit by tilting it back.  It can use any good grade of lamp oil or kerosene- Great to bring firelight to the cabin of a cruising boat or a nautical den.  A practical lamp for off-grid use in these sketchy times.
