    Description

    Description:
This is an interesting piece. While I have a number of Asian pieces, I don't have much from Japan.
I had bought this at auction in NJ and brought down to the new house in Florida....but I have too much in my collection.
The vase is in a ginger jar shape.
It measures 7.75” high, and the widest part is approximately 8” in diameter.
The painting is a dogwood or cherry blossoms. The white blossoms are done in a raised paint that has an “enamel” effect.
The mark is interesting. While I don't read Japanese, Google translator comes up with the word “Buddist” in one of the marks.
There are no other marks on the piece.
Having bought at auction, I do not have any other background.
