This beautiful piece is timeless and would make a great addition to any Nautical Maritime collection.
I believe this is a classic lamp that has been used on sailing ships for hundreds of years.  Originally when I purchased it I was told it was a carriage light (which I thought meant it went on horse drawn carriages) but research shows it to be a maritime lamp.
    Measurements:
Lantern including both handles and guides is approximately 16" tall x 6.5" wide x 5" deep
Lantern brass body is about 4.75" x 4.75" at bottom / base
Lantern only without handles is about 10.5" tall to top of chimney
Burner and chimney lamp approximately 8" tall (when taken out of the cage)
Glass globe with Chimney is about 3" diameter and 5" tall (very thin delicate glass)
    Condition:
Pre-owned, estate find and in good vintage condition.  Lantern has wear and patina,  no cracks or chips - glass is clear and no scratches.  The lamp has oil burner and a stub of a wick that moves up and down.  I have not attempted to unscrew the bottom where the fuel goes, so I don't know if you can add fuel or not.  There are some areas that have been soldered (they and done will and not obviously noticeable).
